Position: W&S Pump Station Specialist
We will interview qualified applicants for this Full-Time Position who meet the following job requirements:
Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of skilled tasks to install, maintain, test, inspect, repair and overhaul mechanical and electrical systems at pump stations and treatment facilities to ensure efficient and consistent pump station operations. This position makes inspections, performs preventative and corrective maintenance, keeps detailed documentation relative to operations and maintenance of all pumping station equipment including pumps, motors, piping, valves, meters, etc. as well as electrical components, SCADA and other electronic and control equipment.
Education and Training:
Must have a high school education or equivalent. At least three years of hands-on experience in operation, maintenance and repair of mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and their controls is required. Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
Abilities and Skills:
Applicant must have working knowledge of water pumping equipment including mechanical, electrical and electronic installation, operations and repairs. Must have the ability to prepare and maintain detailed records of work performed; interpret SCADA charts, data, gauges and measuring devises; perform various types of electrical operations under many conditions; and understand electrical and mechanical drawings.
Must have knowledge of and ability to work within safe work methods, and follow all OSHA’s safety practices relating to the work. Must be able to obtain a TDEC Wastewater Collection Systems II Certification within 18-months following date of hire.
Must possess demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, effectively communicating with people and the ability to deal with customers and other departments tactfully. Individual must possess strong teamwork abilities and be capable of exercising initiative and good judgment in performing duties. Individual should within a reasonable period of time after date of hire be able to work independently in the repair of pumps, motors and control systems including SCADA equipment.

This position is subject to pre-employment drug screening, random drug testing and adherence to the Board’s standards for a drug-free workplace.
